What is in a brand? A brand can be a slogan, a logo, or style. For instance: Slogans are a phrase or statement that brings to the reader’s mind the service or product the slogan represents. It’s usually short and easily understood:
De Beers “A Diamond is Forever” 🔸McDonalds🔸“I’m Lovin’ It” 🔸KFC “Finger Lickin’ Good” 🔸Nike – “Just Do It” 🔸Subway – “Eat Fresh”
Logos on the other hand are graphical images of the company that when seen, you immediately can identify the company and what they’re all about. Dell Microsoft Google Amazon Facebook Nike McDonalds Dominos Levi Chick-fil-a Taco Bell Click Funnels
Styles, however, are a certain style or image that the company promotes. You get a certain feeling when you shop in their store.
Apple store 🔸Sports Clips 🔸Starbucks.
Now these are brick and mortar stores, but you can experience the same style or image online as well. Amazon definitely promotes a unique style and image as does Wayfair. They both have very distinctive styles on their websites.
But your brand is never the service or product you promote or sell. The slogans, logos, and styles I just mentioned don’t refer to a single product or service. But they represent a brand or a product line. So your brand whether it’s a slogan, logo, or style, should reflect you, because you are the business. So, what are you promoting? Are you promoting a product or a service? Or are you promoting you, your brand?
